I was initially confused when I read Gabrielle Union was launching a new skin care line for women of color on Twitter. Union has been a Neutrogena spokesperson since 2004. Among the many commercials she’s done for Neutrogena, her Visibly Even commercial stands out because I thought it was specifically geared toward women of color. Just now, I logged on the website and noticed that the only product available for the Visibly Even line is the Daily Moisturizer SPF 30. Did you know R&B singer Monica is collaborating with Orly on a nail polish line scheduled to come out in July 2011? She tweeted, “Thanks to Team Monica [for] the support, [I] just closed the deal for my nail polish line. It’s an extension of Orly. Orly is an amazing product found in spas, Sally’s (as in Sally Beauty) and many other beauty supply stores so this is an honor.
