Uzo Uduba Creative Arts Emmy Awards Makeup
Orange is the New Black star Uzo Aduba was one of Saturday’s biggest winners at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards. She nabbed “Guest Actress in a Comedy Series” for the uber-popular Netflix series (I kid you not, this whole “guest actress” business is throwing me for a loop though). For her big day, she enlisted the help of dynamic duo celebrity hairstylist Jamika Wilson and celebrity makeup artist Jessica Smalls. And doing what I do best, here is how you can get her exact makeup look!

Jill Scott Curly Bob at Get On Up NYC Premiere
On the heels of her “The Beauty & The Brand” brunch (which I, unfortunately, could not attend), Motions celebrity hairstylist Ursula Stephens created a curly, sexy look for singer Jill Scott for her appearance at the “Get On Up“ world premiere in NYC at the Apollo Theater on Monday evening. “We were going for a very sexy, curly look to complement her sultry, curve-fitting dress. Uzo Aduba 2014 Critics Choice Awards Hair & Makeup
I recently rewatched the second season of Orange Is the New Black and let me tell you, the most pivotal character this season for me was hands down Suzanne. Not “Crazy Eyes,” but Suzanne, the highly intelligent but socially inept inmate played beautifully by Uzo Aduba. I try not to be too swayed by online commentary. Critics reduced Aduba’s character to “a modern-day pickaninny” due to her being constantly photographed with bulging, deranged eyes and haphazardly fashioned Bantu Knots. And you know what? I get that. However, the voting committee behind this year’s Critics Choice Awards obviously felt differently as Uzo won for Best Guest Performer in a Comedy Series…
