Shopping #Empire: Cookie Lyon’s French Connection Viven Dress

I am beyond enthused right now! I needed to unwind during this unbelievably busy week so I figured I’d finally do an Empire post. Like so many of you, I envy Cookie Lyon’s (played wonderfully by Taraji P. Henson) closet. We’re two episodes into the inaugural season and people are constantly talking Cookie’s style. Already, she’s had about nine iconic looks which consist of animal print, fur, and statement accessories.
Costume designer Rita McGhee along with Monique Mosley, Timbaland’s wife, infused Cookie’s wardrobe with all types of glamorous, glitzy gems. Let’s get the look together!
The official Empire Facebook page shares select outfits/pieces from Cookie’s Closet each week. Recently, they featured the following ensemble in which I was able to identify ALL of the pieces Cookie wore in “The Outspoken King” before FOX posted the complete look on their website:
This past Wednesday, Cookie sauntered onto a set loaded with delicious man candy, searching for a publicist for her son Jamal’s “coming out” press conference. She wore this French Connection Orange Dress Viven Color Block Jersey in the Souk Sunrise/Black colorway (below).
The sunrise colorway is long gone but there is a Vivien Paneled Jersey Dress in tribal green available at Bloomingdale’s for $111:
Cookie held a Ted Baker Olivets Studded Metal Bar Clutch close to her person as she chatted strategy.
A J.Crew Gold Braid Necklace graced her neck. Dominique, the “fabulous” publicist Rhonda recommended exclaimed that she “loved [Cookie’s] pumps! They’re fabulous!” Those darling pumps were none other than Kurt Geiger London Bond D’orsay Pump Heels in Pink Lizard. This particular color way is sold out but at any rate, there are other colors available below at Nordstrom, Shopbop.com and Lord & Taylor:
