Marsha Ambrosius Sleek BET Awards Fishtail Braid
Marsha Ambrosius’ look on the 2014 BET awards red carpet was a combination of sleek and edgy. As told to Blaq Vixen Beauty by celebrity hairstylist Tiffany Daugherty. Check out her profile at Epiphany Agency. Her natural hair was shampooed and conditioned using Motions Straight Finish Cleanser and Straight Finish Leave-In Conditioner. This conditioned the hair and created the base for the sleek look. After the Leave-In Conditioner was applied, the hair was blown dry with a medium paddle brush and a Cricket Q-Zone Professional Lightweight Dryer. The hair was then flat ironed with a Sedu flat iron to give a more smooth effect.

Not “Crazy Eyes,” but Suzanne, the highly intelligent but socially inept inmate played beautifully by Uzo Aduba. I try not to be too swayed by online commentary. Critics reduced Aduba’s character to “a modern-day pickaninny” due to her being constantly photographed with bulging, deranged eyes and haphazardly fashioned Bantu Knots. And you know what? I get that. However, the voting committee behind this year’s Critics Choice Awards obviously felt differently as Uzo won for Best Guest Performer in a Comedy Series…

Keri Hilson by Gaby Ramos Torrell: Giorgio Armani, Kevyn Aucoin, Make Up For Ever, MAC Cosmetics, Makeup Designory (MUD) and Ardell Lashes Say what you will but Keri Hilson is such a gorgeous woman! For the LA premiere of “Think Like a Man Too,” the singer/songwriter tapped her glam squad to beautify her for the red carpet. Celebrity makeup artist Gaby Ramos Torrell chose to enhance Keri’s natural beauty with subtle, smoky eyes, nude lips and an unnamed cheek highlighter (I say it’s probably Scott Barnes Special Effects Illuminating Loose Powder in 24KT Bronze based on her previous beauty breakdowns). Here’s the rest of the look: face. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk…
