MAC Viva Glam Rihanna: Black Women Love Her!
Soon as it was announced that Rihanna was MAC’s new spokesperson for their wildly popular Viva Glam campaign for 2014, many criticized the Canadian brand’s lack of ingenuity. 2013 was Rihanna’s bitch, to paraphrase a line from her infamous song “Birthday Cake.” And now, her next target is 2014’s MAC Viva Glam campaign. And I’m here for it! Both MAC Viva Glam Rihanna Lipstick and Lipglass are described as a “blue-red with frost finishes.” Normally, I shy away from lip products with frost finishes, but I hear that this particular one is ultra-flattering on a multitude of skin tones. I do not own her coveted lippie for a cause yet,…

Tika Sumpter eyebrows can be yours today! The “Have and Have Nots” star recently shared celebrity makeup artist Kim Jones’s brow technique with her fans. You guys have asked, so I’m spilling. Tika Sumpter Eyebrows: Beautique & Tom Ford Jones uses two products to achieve Sumpter’s perfectly groomed brows from Beautique and Tom Ford: First, Jones creates an outline with Beautique Eye Brow Pencil in Soft Black. Pharrell Glytone Skincare Regimen: Get Lucky!
Let’s get lucky with Pharrell Glytone skincare regimen! Pharrell Williams, once a devout Cetaphil user, has switched up his skincare regimen. Living by the maxim “Cleanliness is next to godliness,” the ageless star laid down the first law of immaculate skin: You have to clean your face. You can’t sit around and assume it’s going to be OK. I wash my face every day – don’t be afraid to wash yours before you go to bed! I, too, used Cetaphil for a spell before switching over to organic, cruelty-free skincare products from black-owned businesses. Sometimes, I use select products from Peter Thomas Roth, GlamGlow, and Ole Henriksen.

Kerry Washington Nude Lipsticks: 14 & Counting
Kerry Washington nude lipsticks: let’s examine. Kerry Washington’s signature pinky-nude lipstick as Olivia Pope is pretty epic so I thought I’d continue the trend by identifying similar shade she’s worn throughout the years. She sets the standard for habitual nude lipstick wearers everywhere, wouldn’t you say? This dimension, as celebrity makeup artist Sam Fine prefers, is what makes a nude lipstick truly ready-to-wear for brown skin. Nude shades and pink (tones) can get lost against rich skin tones, so I use brown lip liner for definition. For example, for someone with Kerry’s complexion, she could use the same options the Scandal makeup department uses on the actress: Laura Mercier Lip Liner in Hazelnut…

Chaka Khan and Jody Watley Love NARS Cosmetics
What do Chaka Khan and Jody Watley have in common? Both love NARS Cosmetics! I own a few lip products from NARS Cosmetics that I absolutely love. Bad Education Lip Gloss was my first splurge. Dragon Girl Velvet Matte Lip Pencil was the next shade to find a home in my makeup bag. I saw Cassie wearing Funny Face Lipstick in Vibe Magazine, so I snatched it up. Thanks to Kerry Washington, I bought Terre De Feu Pure Matte Lipstick. Valparaiso Pure Matte Lipstick is similar, so I bought it too. Downtown is a unique purple gloss. Heat Wave, a hot blood-orange, is missing in action. Let’s see which NARS products these divas stan…
